23rd November 2024
The National Tree Week 2024 has launched today, marking the traditional start of the winter tree planting season. At this time of year, trees are dormant and so experience the least stress when being placed in their new homes.
The celebration, organised by The Tree Council and partners, brings together a range of events across the country.
The National Tree Week 2024 takes place between 23rd November and 1st December 2024.
As the organisers said, all you need to take part in the celebration is enthusiasm, warm clothing and a love for creating new life from the soil.
The Tree Council has created lots of resources, from activities for little ones, to advice on choosing the ‘right tree for the right place’.
They are available for download through the National Tree Week website. You can also find there local tree planting event and access lots of fun and interactive Tree Party resources.
The Tree Council CEO, Sara Lom, said: “We are delighted to be celebrating National Tree Week, which provides a fantastic opportunity for all of us to come together for the love of trees.
“Trees and hedgerows help us tackle climate change, provide homes for wildlife, improve our health and so much more. We need to help them back, and by getting involved, you’ll be part of growing a greener, tree-filled future for all of us.
“We’re so grateful to everyone across the UK for taking part in National Tree Week”
