Mormon reality tv show about youngsters breaking free

Hi I have a mormon friend and I was telling him about a reality show ive watched a few years back about young mormons, I think they were 18 or 21, who would get a couple months or a year off to experience the real world. Some got shunned, they all went to new york, some experimented with drugs, alcohol, tattoos and stuff. I cannot find the name of the show online for the life of me. Can anyone recognize it?
