A recent report revealed that a popular tag team was considered to be in the running to be the next AEW World Tag Team Champions apart from Private Party. This would be The Outrunners.
Two and a half weeks ago, at Fright Night Dynamite, Kassidy and Quen shocked the world when they finally dethroned The Young Bucks to become the new tag team champions. This ended a more than six-month reign from the EVPs. They even put their career as a duo on the line.
According to a recent report by Fightful Select, before it was decided that Private Party would be pushed to become the new tag team champions, some names within AEW pushed for The Outrunners to be in that position. In the end, it was also mentioned that internally they were happy with how the current storyline turned out.

The Outrunners have earned their first shot at the AEW World Tag Team Titles
Following Private Party becoming the new champions, their first title defense has just been announced for AEW Full Gear happening next weekend.
It was announced that a four-way match will be taking place at the pay-per-view for the tag team titles. Three qualifying matches were announced for the slots for this match.
As of writing, two of the three slots have now been filled up, with The Outrunners and the House of Black joining Private Party so far. Tomorrow night on Collision, The Acclaimed will take on La Faccion Ingobernable for a chance to join them.
This would be the first time that Turbo Floyd and Truth Magnum will be competing for the tag team titles. After being on the losing column for some time, their popularity suddenly spiked, and they have since gone on to have great momentum as a duo to close the year.
Just like mentioned in the report, the “Youngest Men Alive” have a chance to capture their first titles as a duo, but they’ll have to overcome great odds to walk away from Full Gear as the champions.
