Marvel Rivals: Can Your PC Handle This Superpowered Clash of Champions?

Marvel Rivals is a fresh spin on the hero shooter genre that pits iconic Marvel heroes and villains against one another in intense, multiplayer rumbles. Destructive battlegrounds, snappy action, and a 33-character roster await Marvel enthusiasts when the game launches on Dec. 6. But is your PC gaming rig capable of running this team-based showdown? Check out the minimum and recommended system requirements to determine if it’s up for the task.

What Is Marvel Rivals’ Story?

The upcoming game is a new entry in the highly competitive hero shooter genre. The titles pit squads of powerful and highly specialized heroes against one another in large-scale, urban scraps as they vie for points and territorial control. Considering the rich and encyclopedic breadth of Marvel’s comic book catalog, the property perfectly fits the genre.

Why is everyone fighting? Dr. Doom wages war against his 2099 future counterpart, creating a cataclysmic merger of Marvel universes. Heroes and villains from across the various realities duke it out as they attempt to reach and defeat both Dooms before either one dominates the multiverse.

Developer NetEase Games injects many creative wrinkles to make the gameplay stand out from, say, Overwatch. Environments are littered with destructible features, so you can ambush opponents taking cover by demolishing the shelter around them. Synergy perks are another unique twist. Certain characters synergize when placed on the same team, giving them access to powerful special abilities they wouldn’t otherwise have. For example, Rocket Raccoon hops on Groot’s shoulders, giving him a better vantage point for shooting (while giving Groot a defensive buff). It’s something straight out of the MCU.
