Looking to get into the Championship

So I'm a avid serie a watcher, I support juventus and overall i watch all of the top 5 leagues. However, when it comes to english football, I've heard a lot about the championship and have several friends who support teams in the championship and overall i'm looking to get into the league more. I don't know know too much about the championship, but a team with a bit of premier league history, stays mid table or around there, any recomendations?
