GAITHERSBURG, MD — A clothing shop focused on offering sustainable fashion by repurposing pieces plans to hold its grand opening from noon to 8 p.m. Jan. 1 in Gaithersburg.
Upcycled posted the date on its website, and invited shoppers to “Explore our collection of curated pre-loved clothing, including T-shirts, hoodies, denim, flannels, and plaid at very affordable prices.”
The store is opening at 18959 Bonanza Way.
The family-run business will offer unique finds, coffee, and invite customers to play table games, and relax. Upcycled will support youth mental health awareness programs in the community, it told The MoCo Show, and part of its sales will go toward that effort.

The company describes itself:
“Upcycled is dedicated to providing sustainable fashion choices by repurposing and recycling clothing items. Our mission is to take away endless hours and trips going from thrift store to store. We have taken that time to hand select items in the best condition, give it a little love and offer them to you. While you browse and hang out enjoy one of our coffee lattes.”
