I am in the design phase of my new house and am deciding where it would be best to place the fireplace: in a corner or on a wall. The only issue I see with placing it on the side wall is the clearance from the sofa. Anyone coming in through the arch and heading to the living room would have to pass between the sofa and the fireplace, where the clearance is about 65 cm (2 feet). Placing it on the side also means moving the window to the wall overlooking the garage, which is currently open but may be closed in the future, as shown in the attached photos. submitted by /u/nucleus0 |
