MANILA, Philippines — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) released on Tuesday the list of approved areas for mock elections in preparation for the 2025 polls.
Additionally, Comelec Deputy Executive Director Rafael Olaño said that there was no confirmed date yet on when the mock elections would take place.
“No date yet because we’re still waiting for the completion of the international certification,” he said in a mix of English and Tagalog during the 1st National Convention of Election Officers in Pasay City.

Listed below are regions for mock elections and their respective provincial and city/municipality locations:
- National Capital Region
- Pateros
- Taguig City
- Makati City
- Cordillera Administrative Region
- Bontoc, Mountain Province
- Sagada, Mountain Province
- Region IV-A
- Antipolo, Rizal
- Jala-jala, Rizal
- Region VIII
- Borongan City, Eastern Samar
- Lawaan, Eastern Samar
- CARAGA
- Surigao
- Placer, Surigao del Norte
- Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao
- Pikit, North Cotabato
- Old Kabacan, North Cotabato
- Region IX
Olaño also said a public demonstration and roadshow for the automated counting machines (ACMs) will be held from December 2, 2024, to January 30, 2025. Comelec Chairman George Erwin Garcia previously said that a voter information drive will also happen in the same period.

Garcia also noted that the poll body will set up 110 repair hubs nationwide for the first time.

The poll body has already received over 90 percent of ACMs as part of the commitment of Miru Systems, the automated elections systems provider for the 2025 polls.
