Another international break is out of the way and there are a fairly quiet few days ahead of us in the world of football before the domestic action resumes in earnest next weekend.
With that in mind, I’ve focused on the weekend’s games for this edition of The Long Haul rather than a selection each day and have picked out a pair of both teams to score bets on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, which combine to form an 18/1 six-fold accumulator.

Both Teams To Score Long Haul Accumulator Tip
Friday
Plymouth vs Watford
These sides played out a thrilling 3-3 draw in the corresponding fixture last season. A repeat result is perhaps unlikely, but we should still see both teams get on the scoresheet at Home Park.
Plymouth have managed just one clean sheet in 15 attempts in the Championship, shipping 26 goals in total, but they have scored in seven of their eight home fixtures across all competitions. Watford have the joint-worst defensive record away from home in the division with 18 goals conceded, but the Hornets have only failed to score in one of their last five games and struck twice against the Pilgrims in an EFL Cup meeting back in August.
Cheltenham vs Tranmere
In League Two, a pair of suspect defences clash on Friday as Cheltenham entertain Tranmere.
Both teams have scored in nine of the Robins’ last 11 games and they have scored in all of those. Tranmere have scored in eight of their last 10 games overall and have conceded a hefty 12 goals in just seven trips in this competition.
Saturday
Bournemouth vs Brighton
Bournemouth have only managed one clean sheet at home this season and have also scored in four of their five outings at the Vitality Stadium.
Brighton are yet to draw a blank on their travels and there have been goals at both ends in eight of their last nine games across all competitions.
Both of these teams come into the game in decent form, so goals at both ends looks likely.
Aldershot vs Altrincham
I’m dropping down into the National League for Saturday’s second selection to highlight Altrincham as a good team for fans of both teams to score bets to keep an eye on.
The Robins have seen both teams score in nine of their last 12 games and are facing an Aldershot side who have gone five games without a clean sheet, but have scored in three of their last four.
The Shots have scored a respectable 23 goals in 18 games but have also conceded 29 themselves, while Alty have almost a reverse record with 28 goals scored and 23 conceded. As such, goals at both ends could be on the cards at the Recreation Ground.
Sunday
Osasuna vs Villarreal
Osasuna had scored in seven consecutive games before being thumped 4-0 at Real Madrid in the last round of fixtures but they should enjoy a bit more success against Villarreal.
Osasuna are yet to draw a blank at home this season but they’ve also conceded in five of their seven games at the Estadio El Sadar. Villarreal have scored in six of their seven trips across all competitions and are still seeking a first clean sheet on their travels.
Auxerre vs Angers
Promoted pair Auxerre and Angers meet in France’s top tier on Sunday in what could be a key game in the battle against the drop.
Auxerre have pulled clear of danger for now after a run of 10 points from the last available 12, but clean sheets have been harder to come by as they’ve managed just one shut-out in their last five.
Angers, who are hovering just above the drop zone, have scored in four consecutive away games and both teams have scored in eight of their last nine games overall.
