Caloocan City has thrown its full support behind senatorial aspirant Luis “Chavit” Singson, who received a warm welcome from Mayor Along Malapitan and Congressman Oca Malapitan during his recent visit. The former Ilocos Sur governor captivated city officials and residents alike with his vision for progress, anchored by innovative projects designed to uplift Filipinos.
Singson’s transport modernization project, highlighted by his e-jeepney initiative, was a hot topic during his visit. The program, which offers drivers an e-jeepney with no down payment, no collateral, and zero interest, earned widespread praise from city officials.
“His projects are not only good for Caloocan but also for the entire country. He’ll be perfect for the Senate,” Congressman Oca Malapitan remarked in Filipino. Mayor Along Malapitan echoed these sentiments, expressing gratitude for the practical solutions Singson presented to the city’s pressing transport challenges.

Singson’s visit also included stops at two of Caloocan’s largest barangays, Barangay 28 and Barangay 34, where he was greeted with overwhelming enthusiasm.

Aside from leading a rice distribution activity that benefited hundreds of residents, he introduced the online capabilities of his Banko ng Masa, a project aimed at providing Filipinos with accessible banking solutions, including accounts and credit cards. Singson’s hands-on demonstration of the platform drew rave reviews from the crowd, showcasing his commitment to financial inclusivity.
“I’m good friends with Congressman Bingbong (Crisologo), Chavit’s relative, and that’s how I became close to him back then when he was still governor. We’re good friends, and friends don’t leave each other behind,” Congressman Oca Malapitan shared in Tagalog, reflecting the deep ties and trust between Caloocan’s leadership and Singson.
