| Apes are fascinating animals for humans. However, I ‘ ve chose to focus on gorillas because this species is in decline, if not extinction. Mesures are being put in place to limite this extermination, but before we get into that, I ‘ d like to take a look at the similarityes beetwen humans and the lives of these primates. There are many similarities between monkeys and humans. If their intense gaze makes us wonder, it ‘ s because there is a definite kinship. In fact, they have similar physical to us, such as bone, muscle, brain and tooth structure. Despit having the same dentition as humans, the difference in strengt is inpressive. A gorilla ‘ s jaw is twice as powerful as that of a lion. Gorillas share 98% of their genetic heritage (chromosomes and blood groups ) with humans. This means that this graet ape is particularly susceptible to the same diseases as humans. Acording to experts, a simple cold is enough to kill it. So the gorilla is one of our closest cousins. |
