Philippine Sports Commission Executive Director for Batang Pinoy, Paolo Francisco Tatad, expressed gratitude to all who participated in the Batang Pinoy 2024 National Championships.
Tatad described the five-day youth games as a “celebration of the extraordinary of our Filipino youth” as the event concluded on Thursday, November 24.
“First of all, I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to the city government of Puerto Princesa. Your hospitality, support, and dedication have made this event not just possible but memorable,” Tatad said.
He also recognized the parents of the athletes for their unwavering support and the athletes themselves for their commitment to the games.
“You are the anchor upon which all grassroots sports development efforts are centered. Your passion, determination, and talent are proof that the future of Philippine sports is bright,” he told the young athletes.
Tatad further emphasized that the Batang Pinoy games would continue to develop the talents and skills of young athletes across various sports disciplines, especially at the grassroots level.
“Isa itong plataporma kung saan nagsisimula ang mga pangarap, isinisilang ang mga kampeon, natutuklasan ang mga susunod na Olympic o world champion na susunod sa yapak nina Heidelyn Diaz, Carlos Yulo, at EJ Obiena, at kung saan namamayani ang diwa ng sportsmanship,” he said.
