- The BMW M2 serves as the foundation for AC Schnitzer’s police-themed demonstration car.
- A police livery pairs with aero upgrades, a lowered stance, and significant power increases.
- This marks AC Schnitzer’s eighth contribution to the “Tune it! Safe!” initiative in Germany.
Tuned vehicles and law enforcement don’t typically mix well, but the “Tune it! Safe!” initiative flips that script with the full backing of German authorities. The latest standout in this campaign is a highly customized BMW M2 from AC Schnitzer, showcasing a combination of aerodynamic, chassis, and performance upgrades—all wrapped up in an eye-catching police livery complete with flashing lights.
The modified M2 police car certainly looks the part, thanks to its silver, blue, and yellow livery emblazoned with bold “Polizei” lettering, a roof-mounted siren, and extra LED lights to amplify its presence. These attention-grabbing features are paired with an aggressive carbon fiber body kit, including a front splitter, canards, side skirts, a roof spoiler, and a prominent rear wing topped with a Gurney flap.

The M2 Polizei rides on a set of staggered AC Schnitzer AC4 forged wheels measuring 20 inches at the front and 21 inches at the rear, finished in Tech Gold. To enhance its stance, the AC Schnitzer RS adjustable suspension lowers the car by 25-35 mm (1-1.4 inches) while offering fully adjustable rebound and compression rates.
As you’d expect, the M2 receives the most potent performance upgrade in AC Schnitzer’s catalog. The twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six now churns out a more impressive 553 hp (412 kW / 560 PS) and 650 Nm (479 lb-ft) of torque, an increase of 100 hp (74 kW) and 100 Nm (74 lb-ft) over the standard EU-spec M2. This added power is paired with a sportier valve-controlled exhaust system, complete with aggressive quad carbon-fiber tailpipes that promise to deliver a more commanding soundtrack.
Interior upgrades are limited to aluminum accents on the larger shift paddles, pedals, keyholder, and BMW’s iDrive controller, alongside AC Schnitzer embroidery on the headrests.
However, don’t expect to find a police radio or specialized law enforcement equipment inside. After all, this is strictly a demonstration vehicle, and while it won’t be chasing criminals anytime soon, the thought is undeniably cool.
In addition to AC Schnitzer, a regular contributor to the “Tune it! Safe!” initiative with eight builds under its belt, other tuners like TechArt and Abt Sportsline have also participated with police-themed projects. This national campaign is backed by the German Federal Ministry of Digital and Transport, the German police, and is entirely funded by sponsors. Its mission is simple yet impactful: to “draw attention to safe tuning” and demonstrate what’s achievable when modifications adhere to Germany’s admittedly strict road approval regulations.
