BAGUIO CITY — Retired Marine Col. Ariel Querubin said that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Vice President Sara Duterte should try to settle their dispute and concentrate on performing their jobs.

“They should try to settle their differences. There are more important matters they can give their time and energy into,” he said in Ilocano during a mini press conference in Baguio on Thursday, Nov. 28.

He also encouraged the personalities behind the formation of the “Unity Team” that brought the tandem in the 2022 elections to intervene for the peace, order and reconciliation of the two top officials of the nation.

Querubin said that the Filipino trusted the two officials of their votes with the belief and trust that they can perpetuate unity amid the divisive politics.

“It is possible for them to reconcile, to kiss and make-up amid the turbulent situation because they both desire to serve well and make the country better,” he added.

Querubin, a bemedaled soldier, believes that peace, order and unity will bring about progress which he has personally seen in his years of assignment in the southern Philippines.

Also a member of the Free Masonry that lives with the values of integrity, friendship, respect and service, Querubin added that good governance is a guiding principle he had always believed in as a soldier and a person.

Querubin has filed his candidacy for a senate post.
