According to English’s account of the arrest:
At 11:14 p.m., the officers responded to a house in the 0-50 block of North Broadway Street for a disturbance. The officers learned that Navarrete grew angry and called her ex-boyfriend, telling him she was coming to his home, where he was with his current girlfriend.

Once Navarrete arrived, the victim denied her entry into the home at which time it is believed that Navarrete shattered a back window with a brick. Navarrete then entered the home through this broken window, sustaining cuts to her hands from the broken glass.
Navarrete then approached the male victim and punched him in the face numerous times and scratched his neck. After the attack, Navarrete retrieved a knife from the kitchen and stabbed two televisions and a couch, causing extensive damage to each item. She then slapped the phone out of the victim’s hand as he tried to call 911. Navarrete was on the scene, and placed into custody and she refused medical attention.
Navarette comes from the east side, the 600 block of Mohawk Street, her jail logs show.
